{Deposits}

Happy Friday, everyone!

Wanted to make a friendly reminder - If you are scheduling a session, I *do* require a deposit to hold your spot. This is not for free session winners. This is for paid sessions only. Go to the "Investment" tab at the top of the home page and read up on what you need to do.  If you were a client last year, you'll know this is something new, but this new policy applies to everyone, old or new client.  So, when you contact me to book a session, you need to already be making plans on getting the deposit to me.  I am doing this due to the number of canceled sessions I've had.  I understand sessions have to be canceled sometimes, but I invest time and money into each and every session.  Don't forget that these deposits are non-refundable (this is also mentioned in the "Investment" portion on the home page).

Another thing - I've gotten many, many friend requests on my personal Facebook account from those of you interested in photo sessions, and these are friend requests that I will not be accepting (I hope you understand, I like to keep my life somewhat private).  The best way to get in touch with me regarding a photo session is to contact me via email - boyandgirlphotography{at}gmail{dot}com.

Thanks in advance - and have a great weekend!

{Mini Me}

I've been busy.  I've been sick.  I've had lots on my mind.  So, to hold you all over until I can get some sessions done and posted, here's a picture of me, taken when I lived in Brazil - I was turning 1?  Or 2?  I don't remember.  Is there anything like old timey film pictures?  Sooo yummy.  Enjoy --- and happy weekend to each and every one of you!

{What Do I Wear?}

Coming soon...

A blog post on how to dress for your sessions.  I've had lots of you ask me, "What do I wear for my session?".  So, I'm putting together some things that'll be helpful and insightful.  Believe it or not, what you wear for a session can sometimes make or break the session.  Yes, you read correctly.

I saw these adorable little sisters today.  And let me tell you, they know how to dress for a session!  I've seen them a couple times before, and their mommy always dresses them so well.  CUTE.  Check it...

{Happy Friday!}

For those of you that don't have a Facebook account or don't 'like' Boy & Girl Photography on Facebook and just look at my blog instead - here's what I shared with Facebook yesterday...

Went to the circus with my daughter and my sister and her family to celebrate my nieces' birthday.  It was the first time for both my daughter and me.  We LOVED it!  The elephants act was our favorite part!  They were amazing!

I plan on posting more circus pictures later.  I said *plan* :)

Happy Friday and weekend to you all!

{"E" | 6 Months Old Session Teaser}

I like to think that my sessions are laid back.  I hope you all don't feel uncomfortable and nervous when I'm taking your pictures.  I sooo enjoy photographing you all, and I like to have fun - and I hope you all sense that.

One thing to consider if you're a "nervous" client is to have a session done in your home (and hey, it keeps you out of the cold!).  Having a session in your home is generally relaxing, calm, and even more-so laid back than a session outdoors, because you're in familiar surroundings, obviously, in your home.

I really like doing in-home sessions.  Your belongings and things in your home make your session really personal and unique.  So anyway, it's something to consider for that next session you want!

Besides a tumble backwards into the wall with her head (ouchie!), pretty 6 month old "E" was the perfect little model.  She was SUCH a pleasant baby!  This session was really about her, but we did get big sister "S" in some photos, along with mommy and daddy, too.

"S" family, I hope you enjoy your teaser!  Thank you for asking me into your home to do this session!

Yummy baby hands & feet!

Mommy is a great story-reader!

I love that baby "E" looks so little in daddy's arms!  And look at her sweet tummy peeking out! ;)

"Love Puppy" made into the family picture as well! :)

{All About Me}

"Huh?  What?  All about HER?  Ok, she's full of herself!"  Haha! ;)  Here's the thing...I follow a blog for photographers that encourages photographers to step out of their comfort zones.  So, this week's challenge to photographers is to step out from behind the camera (where most of us photographers would rather be) and to get in front of the lens.

So, I did.

It was grueling.  Self-portraits are NOT something I'm fond of doing.  But, I'm generally up for a challenge.  The next step was - we had to share these self-portraits with someone.  Who better to share them with than all of you lovely people :)  Anyone who *really* knows me, knows that I do.not.like.being.in.front.of.the.camera.  I just don't.

Do you know how hard it is to take a self-portrait, hand-holding a heavy SLR camera with one hand, trying to focus on SOMETHING?  Not an easy task.  We were also challened to not say anything negative about ourselves, not to over-criticize ourselves, BUT wait...OH.MY.WORD.  The "creases" (aka wrinkles!) under my eyes?  WHERE did those come from?  Ok, ok, I leave you with these.

Happy Tuesday :)

**yes, I agree, these are HUGE photos of my face**

{Reminder on Investment}

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start!  It's a cold, rainy one here, but I usually look forward to my weekends :)

Need to remind you all of something.  You can also go to the "Investment" tab above and read pretty much the same thing I'm going to tell you here.  Remember - if you're booking a session with me, a 50% deposit is due AT THE TIME OF BOOKING.  Your session is not officially booked until I receive that 50% deposit.  The other 50% is due at the time of your session.  You can get in touch with me (click on the "Contact Me" tab above or email me at boyandgirlphotography{at}gmail{dot}com) as to how to get this deposit to me.  I accept cash, checks and Paypal.  So, there are several options.

Please email me with any questions or concerns.  If you'd rather talk on the phone about it, email me, asking me for my number or email me yours, and we'll get in touch!  I don't post my number on here for several reasons.

Have a super fab weekend, and on a Valentine's Day (approaching quickly!) note...
